International Bestselling Author, Writing Coach, and Founder of The Storytellers Path
Dani created The Storytellers Path because she lived through the painful, costly process of writing and publishing on her own. After enduring a traumatic brain injury and spending seven to eight years rebuilding herself, she discovered that writing was a tool for healing and meaning-making. When podcast hosts repeatedly asked why her story was not a book, she created her international bestseller The Wandering Heart. Having experienced both self-publishing hardship and disappointment with a hybrid publisher, she built a community and professional team so that other writers would not have to suffer through the same obstacles she did.
Dani suffered a traumatic brain injury that forced her to relearn how to walk, how to use her brain, and how to function in daily life. The recovery took approximately seven to eight years and involved significant pain and heartache. Before the injury, she had lived an unconventional life that included a year of hitchhiking and five years as a marijuana farmer in a remote area of Northern California with no cell reception, bears, mountain lions, and very little law enforcement. After her recovery she navigated the publishing world alone, first self-publishing at great personal cost and then being let down by a hybrid publisher.
While appearing on approximately 50 podcasts to share her travel experiences and eventually her traumatic brain injury story, Dani repeatedly heard hosts ask why she had not turned her experience into a book. That question reoriented her completely. She realized the impact and inspirational power of her story, created her international bestseller The Wandering Heart, and then recognized that the knowledge and process she had built could help other writers avoid the same hardships she faced, which led directly to founding The Storytellers Path community.
Dani is working toward completing her fantasy trilogy series, The Veins of the Void, which weaves spirituality, science, and anime-inspired world-building into a story about belonging, unity, and inner power. She is also collaborating with a speaker coach on workshops that show writers different ways to be a storyteller, since speaking and writing a book share many similarities and work well together. Her broader vision is to expand The Storytellers Path so that dedicated writers everywhere can move from idea to published book in as little as six months, supported by a full professional team.
Dani serves dedicated, heart-led writers who already know they have a story they want to share with the world but need guidance on the who, the where, and the how. Her ideal members are not on the fence about writing. They are committed and simply need a clear process, professional support, and a community to help them move from idea to finished and published book. She helps with memoirs, transformational, fiction, and fantasy books, and does not work on nonfiction.
Everyone has a story to tell. Stop getting in your own way and get it going.
